文化部于2013年开始启动汉学家项目,旨在为中外学者搭建汉学学术交流与合作的平台,项目内容主要包括“汉学与当代中国”座谈会和青年汉学家研修计划等活动。五年来,文化部与中国社会科学院、上海社会科学院、中国艺术研究院、国家图书馆、陕西师范大学、郑州大学、北京语言大学等国内学术文博机构和高等院校携手,共举办了5届“汉学与当代中国”座谈会和10期青年汉学家研修计划,活动取得了良好的效果,赢得国内外学者及合作机构的一致好评。
2018年汉学项目将扩大规模,以进一步推动国际汉学研究,加强国际汉学家之间的交流。2018年“汉学与当代中国”座谈会和青年汉学家研修计划已正式启动,现向全球开展汉学家项目推荐报名工作,有关事项通知如下:
一、推荐报名条件:
(一)2018“汉学与当代中国”座谈会
1.基本要求:年龄40岁以上,身体健康;
2.工作经历:具备所在国著名智库、政府部门、研究机构、教育机构或社会机构工作的经历;
3.学术能力:在当代汉学研究领域有专业深入的研究以及广泛的国际影响力;发表或出版过有影响力的关于中国研究的论文、著作或译著。
(二)2018青年汉学家研修计划
1.基本要求:年龄在25至45岁之间,身体健康(需持所在国健康证明);
2.教育背景:本科以上学历,能用中文或英文开展研讨;
3.工作经历:具备所在国著名智库、教育或研究机构、政府部门、文化艺术或传媒机构、文化创意企业等工作的经历;
4.学术能力:在当代汉学研究领域有一定的学术研究水平和社会影响力;发表或出版过有关中国研究的论文或著作;正在进行与中国有关的研究合作项目。
二、推荐报名时间和方式
请意愿参加汉学项目,并符合上述条件的专家学者进入当代汉学官网首页(网址:sinology.chinaculture.org),根据所报项目分别点击进入“2018‘汉学与当代中国’座谈会”及“2018青年汉学家研修计划”栏目,进行实名注册后完成信息填报,报名截止时间为2018年3月10日。
三、评审方式
专家评审会于3月下旬根据评审相关细则确定受邀参加“汉学与当代中国”座谈会及青年汉学家研修计划的学者名单。
四、邀请方式
受邀学者名单确定后将由活动各承办单位向受邀学者发出正式邀请函,学者确认接受邀请后按照邀请函内容准备参加活动的相关材料或手续。
五、费用安排
受邀参加上述活动的学者往返国际机票(经济舱)、在华食宿、集体交通及研修培训等费用由中方承办单位负担。

Initiated by the Chinese Ministry of Culture in 2013, the China Studies Project was designed as a professional platform for academic exchange and cooperation between Chinese and international scholars in Sinology. It includes, among others, the Symposium on China Studies and the Visiting Program for Young Sinologists. Over the past five years, the Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, the Chinese National Academy of Arts, the National Library of China, Shaanxi Normal University, Zhengzhou University, Beijing Language and Culture University, and other Chinese academic institutions, has held five editions of the Symposium on China Studies and ten editions of the Visiting Program for Young Sinologists, which have achieved good results and were well-received by Chinese and international scholars and cooperative institutions.
For an even better development of contemporary China Studies around the world, and for closer ties between contemporary Sinologists, the China Studies Project will be further expanded in scale in 2018. We hereby issue the call for applications for the 2018 Symposium on China Studies and the 2018 Visiting Program for Young Sinologists. Please read the following for details:
I. Eligibility requirements
(I) 2018 Symposium on China Studies
1. Basic requirements: aged over 40, in good health
2. Profession: experience of working at a famous think-tank, government department, research institute, educational institution, or social institution in the home country
3. Academic ability: in-depth research and extensive international influence in the field of contemporary sinology, with published influential papers, works or translations on China Studies.
(II) 2018 Visiting Program for Young Sinologists
1. Basic requirements: aged between 25 and 45, in good health (as proved by the health certificate issued by the home country)
2. Education background: a bachelor degree or above, with fluency in Chinese or English
3. Profession: experience of working at a famous think-tank, education or research institution, government department, cultural, art or media organization, or cultural and creative enterprise, etc.
4. Academic ability: adequate research competence and social influence in the field of contemporary sinology, with published papers or treatises on China Studies; participation in ongoing cooperative research projects related to China.
II. Application and deadline
Those who are interested in participation can access the homepage of China Studies (sinology.chinaculture.org), click the “2018 Symposium on China Studies” or “2018 Visiting Program for Young Sinologists” box, create an account with the real name, and complete the application form. The deadline for applications is March 10, 2018.
III. Evaluation
In late March, the panel will review the applications and select the final candidates for the Symposium on China Studies and the Visiting Program for Young Sinologists.
IV. Invitation
The organizers will issue an invitation letter to the scholars that are finally selected. After accepting the invitation, the scholars are expected to make preparations and go through relevant procedures.
V. Expense
The expenses incurred by the participation in the events, including round-trip international air tickets (economy class), board and accommodation, intercity transportation,and academic training will be borne by the host.
